International Pleasure Horse Registry --Awarding you for showing, even in non breed shows--
When I was surfing the internet last fall I found the International Pleasure Horse Registry. www.internationalpleasurehorse.com
Registration is $10 ($20 for non members).
Membership is $15 for adults, $20 for families and $10 for youth. Once you have a membership you can pay $25 dollars to enter their show award program. They offer year end high point in 4 divisions and recognition for ROMs Superior horse and all around high point. Prizes for high points are things like embroidered halters and blankets for the horses. Your enrollment in the show award program helps pay for the awards. The nice thing about this is they accept points from any show if you get the recording sheet signed, even 4-H shows. Also, any horse breed qualifies, if your horse is already registered with another association such as AQHA then all of that information including the pedigree will be on your IPHR registration certificate.
I thought this registry looked really attractive and I am working on enrolling some of my horses in it. I talked to the director and she seems like she really enjoys running this registry, and is really quick to respond to e-mails. The registry is also fairly new, and growing, but with the lower amout of members now there is a higher chance of winning high point. And with their affordable prices it just seems like a good idea!
For more information on the registry, thier award program or to the the registration and membership forms sent to you, you can e-mail info@internationalpleasurehorse.com.
I just thought I would put this out here so other people could hear about it! What do you guys think?

I think their site does not say who is behind the registry, what qualifications and experience they have to run a registry, why the registry was set up in the first place, what the long-term goals are, or how the registry is giving back to the community and supporting those unstated goals.
I think they are set up to rake in substantial membership fees and toss out a token number of cheap-looking prizes.
I think they are relying on other organizations to take the risk (and cost) of running shows and filling out THIS registry’s paperwork, and members have to pay to submit their own scores, and all this group does is tally results.
I think there are too many holes and questions on that site, and no signs of credibility anywhere. I wouldn’t join.
